My mother was wanting me to go look at maternity clothing this week. I think she is hoping for grandchildren soon, regardless of whether I actually want to be giving birth anytime soon or not. She went so far as to have me try on a maternity skirt so she could see me in it. I sighed at her and told her, sorry mom, I really want to get pregnant but I need to find a guy first.

Skeptical at First

Colorado spring storm

Yesterday we were hit by a classic Colorado spring storm: lots of heavy wet snow. Thursday it started off with lots of rain, by Friday it had turned to snow, and finally sometime Friday night it stopped — after two full days of precipitation.

Days like yesterday always remind me of something that I think is purely a Colorado idea of fun: hot tubbing during a snowstorm. I can remember many ski trips as a kid where we went and sat in the ski resort's hot tubs after a long day on the slope — often with snow falling. There is something amazingly peaceful about sitting in relaxing hot water with thick flakes drifting to the ground all around you.

One of my favorite places though is not a ski resort, but a hot springs resort about a half an hour west of Denver, not far into the mountains. The resort has been there over 100 years, but the Native Americans used the hot springs long before that. Now they have hot springs, a pool, and private tubs both indoors and out. The outdoor tubs are particularly popular — not only are you outside yet surrounded by a high privacy fence, you can see the beautiful mountains looming on every side of you.

Thinking about it almost makes me want to look for cheap hot tubs. I often see them for sale on Craigslist, and I know many companies sell them online at fantastic prices, too. I wonder what my husband would think of having a hot tub in our back yard?

I was shopping for my pet the other day and I went into a store that had great things for animals. It was a beautiful store for pets.
