I don’t know how many years it has been since we had a truly amazing experience on our family vacation, but this year would certainly top any we have ever had up to this point. Instead of taking the tent trailer out this year, we decided to swim with dolphins in the Caribbean.
Okay, truth be told, my wife wanted to swim with dolphins and I wasn’t really too keen on the idea. I mean, who wants to swim with a wet mammal anyway, right?
Well, the experience of swimming with them changed my view on the whole situation. Truth be told, they really weren’t all that bad, and it was really nice of them to give us the opportunity to swim with them. It was something that I will remember forever.
I guess that I am thankful that my wife came up with the idea, and that early on in life I decided that I would try everything once. If I hadn’t given it a shot, I think that my life would have been a little less complete.
Since the vacation went so well this year, I think we are going to try to do something like this again in two years and expose our children to other new experiences before they move away from home.
