The stories my parents told about their lives in San Francisco during the late 60's and early 70's always filled my siblings and I with such wild fantasies of what life would be like when we eventually moved out of our parents home. For just over the past 15 years, I've lived in several Carlsbad lofts just north of San Diego, CA.
I can honestly say that I love the hippy bohemian lifestyle. Of course, in today's modern world, what I do and how I live is termed something different.
Today, we are a colony of artists staying in live work lofts and we have been fortunate to have invested in the foundation that will provide us with a solid future that has less of the worries our parents might have faced.
We enjoy life to the fullest, and some even dabble in some very light, social drug use, but nothing that is likely to get the community raided or give us a bad name. On the contrary, we are simply known as laid back folks that have a good time, while understanding the importance of participating to make the world a better place for all involved.
Having a great time while doing it is simply icing on the cake!
