KidCare Can Supplement Health Insurance

People who have Florida health insurance and who also have children may be struggling right now to make sure that their coverage for their kids stays strong in spite of economic changes in the area. Many people are losing their jobs or having their hours reduced down to part time which means that their health insurance coverage could be changing. This concerns everyone but is particularly an issue for those people who have children.

The good news is that the state of Florida has a good program to assist people who have children under the age of 19 that do not have health insurance. The program is called Florida KidCare. It is a type of government-sponsored health insurance in Florida that is designed specifically to make sure that the medical needs of the state's kids are taken care of.

You won't want to go this route if you don't have to. Try to hang on to your own health insurance first because you tend to get better coverage and care with personal health insurance for your children. But still, you can rest easy knowing that there are other options out there for your kids if you need to rely on them.

At least there is some option for those that have kids but may not be able to afford health insurance for them. We have similar programs in Virginia but it is not specialized for children only.

We have the medicade program where I am at that helps to cover children under 19 as well. A lot of physicians don't accept it, but a lot of them do.

It is good to hear that Florida has this type of option. No child should go without health care. I think this is great.

Why do you say to not use this type of health care. Are there actual cases where kids received inferior health care that were on this program?

This is great for those with low incomes and those families that cannot afford health insurance. What do you have to do to signup for this?
