I for one am worried. We’re going on a family camping trip, and I am beyond worried about it. The kids will be fine; they are always up for an adventure. Anna’s pretty interested in bugs at the moment and Jim has been studying rocks and soil, so there will be lots of things to keep them occupied. I’m worried about Amy. She’s not exactly the outdoorsy type; her idea of rustic is a grill island and an outdoor fireplace. I’m not sure if she’s put it together that she won’t be able to shower for three days or that she’ll have to pee behind a bush. All her clothes will come back smelling like campfire and she will have had a pretty healthy dose of outdoor living by the end of it.
We’re only going on pretty tame trails, and we’re taking the car with us so that the kids don’t have to hike too far in any one day, but though it’s not the worst it could get, it’s certainly not curling up with her DVR. All in all, it could be bad, but I’m really hoping she’ll enjoy it as much as I do, because this could be a wonderful way for us to spend some family vacations, and I am so excited for it. Here’s hoping.
